About Me:
Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate
& Nationally Certified Counselor
My journey into counseling:
After nearly a decade in the high-stress world of management consulting, working with executives across the Fortune 500 on high-profile strategy and execution work, I had become dear friends with anxiety, burnout and perfectionism. While I was successful in that space, I was constantly exhausted, with no energy left to try and figure out what was wrong. Healing from that took an incredible amount of time, energy and effort - but it was incredibly rewarding to feel like myself again.
Inspired that I could help others with similar challenges, I earned a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of William & Mary to fulfill that goal and eventually establish Rivercrest Wellness. (I’m so glad you’re here!)
My professional experience as a therapist:
My professional path as a therapist has included a diverse experiences across several walks of life. I began with several years of crisis work via Crisis Text Line - a anonymous hotline for people in crisis and at risk of self-harm. I was then fortunate to work at an addiction recovery center, in the intensive outpatient program running group therapy and seeing individual clients - witnessing the pain and challenge of addiction. The energy I had in that role confirmed it for me - I had found a home in counseling. From there, I pivoted to private practice for more general adult experience where I’ve refined my skillset further in treating anxiety, depression, anger management, relationship issues and eating disorders from a diverse theoretical application. Most recently, I moved to a team that specializes in peak performance with executives, athletes, and people that want to realize their full potential.
My mindset and clinical style:
As a therapist, I operate from an eclectic, person-centered counseling approach. In session, you’ll find a mix of cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, Gottman-based techniques, and somatic processing. I also love incorporating mindfulness and humor into my work with clients. It’s my pleasure to work with adults from all walks of life improving their opportunities to thrive.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
I do not directly bill insurance companies for my services at this time. I can provide “superbills” or detailed receipts to clients. If a client’s insurer provides “out of network benefits,” (some insurance companies offer this and others do not) clients can submit a superbill to their insurer and get reimbursed for a large portion of their therapy costs. This reimbursement process is between the client and their insurance company, but I am happy to discuss what I know about this process with clients.
-
I accept all major credit cards as well as FHA and HSA cards. I process payment electronically after each session through my client portal.

This varies greatly from client to client. I believe establishing a therapeutic relationship takes time and that slowing down is an important aspect of making space for new perspectives and change. I also believe clients should only attend therapy for as long as they find it helpful. You attend as many sessions as you like without any obligation to continue.
-
I only provide services to residents of Colorado in compliance with my professional license.
